Fazlur Rahman Babu comes off from a well-known Muslim family in Faridpur on July 14, 1960. Babu started schooling in Farudpur where passed his childhood. From an early age, he was fond of acting. His father was a service holder, thereby he had to roam from one place to another around the country. In Farudpur, he joined Boishakhi Natya Gosthi pursuing to build up a career in the media arena.

After education, Fazlur Rahman Babu started a career as a banker by joining the Agrani Bank, a country-renowned bank, meanwhile, he acted for the first time in a national drama festival. In his early career, he appeared in the audience of the stage show.

He made his debut in television acting with the drama Mrittu Khuda in 1991 which was aired on BTV. In the same year, Babu acted in the television drama Itikatha, his playing role in the drama was acclaimed around the country by critics and viewers.
